The income tax filing deadline has passed. Some time ago now, in fact. What's that you say? You didn't file?!

Well, the Internal Revenue Service says, first, don't panic. Second, they say, it's important to know what steps to take.

IRS spokesperson Luis Garcia tells WBCK more than 80 percent of Americans are getting a refund.

"You're denying yourself your check!" Garcia said.

But if you owe, Garcia reminds you the clock has started to tick on interest and penalties.
