The woman accused of fatally shooting her husband on Valentine’s Day was arraigned Thursday in Kalamazoo County.

MLive reports that 43-year-old Janel Boer of Scotts is charged with open murder and felony firearm charges. The incident February 14 took place at the home of Janel and Gregory Boer, with Janel calling police, saying that her husband shot her in the arm before fatally shooting himself in the head.

However, as police looked at the crime scene, they didn’t believe that story, and arrested her for murder. Boer’s attorney says that the evidence in the case doesn’t prove she did anything wrong.

Boer was denied bond.
