Battle Creek police arrested a man for DUI after he allegedly hit 5 parked vehicles, some with occupants including a newborn.

Battle Creek police were called at 12:58 p.m. Tuesday to the 2100 block of West Columbia Avenue on multiple reports of a pick-up truck striking mailboxes on 31st Street then 5 vehicles parked at Meijer, Big Boy Restaurant and Mancino's.

There were no injuries but two of the vehicles were occupied. One of the occupants included a newborn child, according to the Battle Creek Enquirer.

A witness was then able to approach the pick-up truck and secure the keys before the alleged suspect could flee.
