Police in Battle Creek are trying to locate a suspect who is accused of stealing money out of the cash register at a business on Columbia Avenue. A clerk at CVS Pharmacy called police at around 6:00 am Wednesday saying she had been robbed.

She told officers that a man entered the store and bought a snack. When she opened the drawer, he apparently reached over and grabbed cash before running out of the building. Altogether, just over $100 was taken.

He was described as a black male ranging in age from 40 to 50 years old. He was wearing a black T-shirt with gold lettering and a black baseball cap at the time of the robbery. The clerk said the man didn't say anything to her before grabbing the money and she did not see any getaway vehicle after he ran out either. There were no reports of weapons involved.

There’s no word at this time if any surveillance photos or video captured the incident.
