Calhoun County Treasurer Promotes Dog Licenses
The Calhoun County Treasurer’s Office is reminding pet owners that one of the best ways to keep your dogs safe is by purchasing a dog license.
If you have a one-year license with the county, it expires at the end of the month, so you’re encouraged to renew soon. Treasurer Brian Wensauer says that licensing your pet is a great way to “ensure your pet will be returned to you safe and sound” if it ever gets lost.
As well, all dogs over four months of age are required to be registered with the county, if you don’t live in the City of Battle Creek. If you live in the city, you register with them instead.
The costs for licenses breaks down as follows:
1 Year Licenses
- Purchased BEFORE March 1, animal not spayed/neutered - $18
- Purchased BEFORE March 1, animal spayed/neutered - $8
