Calhoun County Selects New Health Officer

A new health officer has now been selected for Calhoun County.

The Calhoun County Health Department says in a release that they, along with the Board of Commissioners and Board of Health, have selected Eric Pessell to fill the position, starting this Friday. Pessell has a bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Biology and Environmental Science from Olivet College, and most recently served as the Environmental Health Director for Kent County.

Calhoun County Administrator and Controller Kelli Scott says that Pessell’s “broad experience and enthusiasm” will help the community “work collectively” to become healthier.

The Health Officer runs the admininstration of the Calhoun County Health Department.
