Panthers Win Overtime Thriller: HS Basketball – February 7

There were a lot of ties, 12 in fact, but it took an extra five-minute overtime to decide the battle at Pennfield with the Panthers and the Marshall Redhawks. After tying each other through all four quarters, the Panthers pulled away with key free throws to knock off the Redhawks 83-82 in overtime.

Junior Steffen Kinne led the Panthers (9-5) with 20 points, while seniors Brandun Rugg and Ryan Lowe each added 16 points for their second straight win.

The Redhawks (6-6) received a strong effort from junior Jacob Brubaker, leading all scorers with 30 on the night including five buckets from long range. Tyler Torrey chipped in 20 in the defeat, their sixth-in-a-row.
