Boys Districts Begin Tonight: HS Basketball – March 9
The drive to the Breslin Center begins for the Boys Basketball teams in the Michigan High School Athletic Association tonight.Three city squads will be in action for the quarterfinals, with two of them hosting their districts.
Tonight's featured battle will take place at Harper Creek, as the state-ranked Beavers will host the Marshall Redhawks in the third battle between these two squads. Harper has been dominate in both previous meetings, winning by more than 20 points in each game. The Beavers are looking for their third straight district title, while Marshall is looking to win a district for the first time since 2012. The winner of tonight's game plays Pennfield on Wednesday.
The Lakeview Spartans and the Battle Creek Central Bearcats are both on the road tonight in their Class A district, while St. Philip will have a couple of days to prepare for Jackson Christian in their district semifinal Wednesday.
