HS Basketball: Redhawks Make It 10 Straight

The Marshall Redhawks were looking to not only stretch their win streak to 10 games, they hoped to add some distance atop the Interstate 8.

Thanks to two players scoring 20-plus points, the Redhawks were able to stretch their lead in the second and third quarters before holding off a late Pennfield Panthers run to win 75-69. The win puts them at 10-2 overall and 7-1 in the I-8, leading by 1 1/2 games over Charlotte and Harper Creek.

Senior Jacob Brubaker scored 16 of his game-high 25 points in the first half to lead the Redhawks. He's now just 15 points shy of breaking the 1,000-point barrier in his career. Senior Tyler Torrey put in 20 points, with 13 in the second half. Senior Drew DeVine would add 12.

The Panthers (5-7, 2-6 I-8) fall for the third time in four games. Junior Ron Jamierson scored 17 points to lead Pennfield, with 10 coming in the second quarter alone. His cousin, junior Fran Jamierson, chipped in 14. Deveaire Todd and Steffen Kinne each had 12 on the night.
