HS Football – Lakeview Hosts Jackson in Playoff Opener
The Michigan High School Athletic Association's Football playoffs begin this week all across the state. Five of the area's six teams are in action tonight.
The winner of the District Semifinal will advance to take on either Dexter or Livonia Churchill. For Dexter (8-1), it's just their second-ever postseason in school history, following last year's playoff appearance at 6-3. It's the Dreadnaughts first one-loss season since 1965.
Livonia Churchill (5-4) makes its 10th playoff appearance and their third straight postseason. The Chargers are one of four teams that are in the postseason from the East Division of the Kensington Lakes Athletic Association.
Lakeview is the top-seed in the District based on playoff points. A Spartans win will give them another home game next week.
Check out the area teams in action on Friday. The complete schedule of the playoff opener and the lone Saturday contest can be seen with tonight's preview below between Lakeview and Jackson.
