Well many of us have heard of Jussie Smollett and his alleged hate hoax against himself.  Smollett claimed that around 2 a.m. in the morning two white men approached him while he walked in downtown Chicago. The alleged attackers yelled racial and homophobic slurs at him, hit him in the face, poured a mysterious chemical substance on him and threw a noose around his neck.  According to the Chicago police it was all a lie.  He staged the attack against himself.

Well we have our own hate crime hoax attack in Michigan that the FBI believe was staged by the “victim”.

That being right here in Jackson Michigan.

The Detroit News is reporting that a transgendered man named Nikki Joly, claimed someone burned down the house he lived in back in 2017, killing his five pets.  The FBI did originally investigate his house being burned down as a hate crime.

He allegedly killed 5 of his own pets!

Mr. Joly was involved with helping open Jackson’s first gay community center, he also organized the first gay festival and, and an ordinance that prohibits discrimination against gays.

For his efforts, a local paper named him the Citizen of the Year.

A gay resident of Jackson, Travis Trombley who helped him fight for the ordinance was quoted in the article saying:

It’s embarrassing…How do you do it to the community you have put so much effort into helping?

The question is why did he commit this alleged crime of burning down the home he lived in?

Well according to the article two people who worked with him at St. Johns United Church of Christ, where the Jackson Gay Pride Center was located and what was in the police report said:

he had been frustrated the controversy over gay rights had died down with the passage of the nondiscrimination law

Also he was:

disappointed the Jackson Pride Parade and Festival, held five days before the blaze, hadn’t received more attention or protests.

Really he and the gay community were not getting enough attention.  All he did was hurt the gay community that he professes to love and fight for so much.  The future real victims of hate crimes in the area are the ones who he ultimately hurt.  Now people may be a bit more skeptical of future hate crimes, you would hope they would not be but human nature says differently.

By the way the home he lived in and allegedly burned down was not even his home, he apparently was renting it.

Citizen of the year, right.
