Development of a downtown Battle Creek landmark is still progressing.

The Milton, formerly the Heritage Tower, will feature retail space and apartments, with the apartments coming online first. As we get closer to opening day, The Milton is releasing more information about what these apartments will be like; they will feature “wood style” flooring, stainless steel appliances, washers and dryers, and residents will have access to garage parking, a “cutting edge” fitness center, and indoor community lounge.

Since this is a historic building, the project is also trying to preserve some of the original structure’s character; while the original escalators in the lobby will not be used, they will be restoring the historic Art Deco elevators.

One of the selling points of living in these apartments is the location; being the tallest building in Battle Creek, many of the units have unique views of the downtown area, and The Milton posted a video of the view from a studio apartment on Tuesday.

The Milton is accepting pre-leases now, and they’re hoping the first residents can move in soon.
