Over 1,000 people lost power Wednesday morning in Battle Creek. 

According to Consumers Energy's Outage Map, around 9:45am Wednesday the outage affected customers along 20th St. in Battle Creek, between Columbia Ave. and the I-94 Business Loop. The outage extended into the Springfield area to the northwest, and along Goguac St. eastward to Meachem.

All told, the number of those without power is around 1,296. To see a map of the outage, click here. 

The Outage Map lists the time of restoration as between 11:45am and 12:45pm.

95.3 WBCK has reached out to Consumers Energy to get an update as to what exactly caused this outage, and how long it might take for power to be restored.

UPDATE
Power should be restored around 2pm for roughly 400 customers in the Lakeview area without power. Consumers Energy tells WBCK that an equipment failure and fire was located on a pole at 20th Street and Goguac Street. Crews are evaluating the potential of replacing the pole at this time.
