Meet Lady, an energetic and good natured girl waiting at the Humane Society of South Central Michigan to find her forever home.

Lady is a loving dynamo who staff and volunteers at the Humane Society of South Central Michigan affectionately refer to as more of a "Lady in Waiting" because she still needs to work on her manners. She is very sweet and is excited to meet new people but will need obedience training. Lady is extremely smart, a common trait with her breed, and already knows a few commands. She is house and crate trained.

Lady's lack of manners isn't her fault though, she spent most of her time prior to arriving at the shelter in a crate or on a chain not able to learn those important social skills. Thankfully those days are far behind and she is ready to find her forever home. She is a German Shepard and her ideal home would be with someone familiar with the breed. There is a reason this breed is frequently used as military dogs, police dogs and service dogs. They love having a job to do. To be the best dog she can be, Lady will need regular exercise. A fenced in yard is a must for her fur-ever home and she does not do well with cats and may take time to warm up to other dogs.

Lady is just over a year and half old and likely won't get much taller or longer but was underweight when she arrived at the shelter and is still filling out.
