Meet Luke, a loving puppy with young pup energy looking for his forever home and family at the Humane Society of South Central Michigan.

While Luke looks like a young Labrador, he is much smaller and likely will not get much bigger. He is listed as a TerrierBeagle mix and is about 8 months old. Luke is very quick to warm up to new people. He is the type of dog that loves being the center of attention and would do best as the only dog. He is not dog or cat aggressive, but prefers not to share his home space with other animals. Luke would do best with children 8-10 years or older. Visiting grandchildren are okay. He loves to go for walks and play in the fenced in area but would also enjoy just laying beside you while you watch t.v. or read a book. Luke often appears as high energy in his kennel, but calms down nicely after a little exercise.

Luke is coming along well on his leash training but like most pups his age, could use a little more. A fenced in yard is a good idea for his fur-ever home as well.

Luke is a black dog and like other black dogs (and cats) is less likely to be adopted through no fault of their own. It is hard to imagine anyone thinking less of this good boy after looking into those big brown eyes.
