Baseball

Former Tiger Yoenis Cespedes slammed a three-run homer, and another former Tiger,   Curtis Granderson, knocked in five runs as the Mets roughed up the Dodgers 13-7. The Mets can win the series at home tonight.

The Cubs' hit six home runs in an 8-6 win over the Cardinals in Chicago. Chicago leads 2-1 and can send the Cards packing with a win at Wrigley Filed today at 4:30pm.

There will be a game five between Kansas City and Houston. The Astros blew a 6-2 eighth inning lead as the Royals won it 9-6. KC scored five in the 8th and two in the 9th to force a deciding game 5 Wednesday night in Kansas City.

The Blue Jay hit three homers to build an 8-1 lead and beat the Rangers 8-4. Former Tiger David Price got the win, as he relieved R.A. Dickey with two outs in the 4th. It all comes down to game 5 on Wednesday at 4pm in Toronto.

NFL

"Monday Night Football" ….the Chargers beat the Steelers 24-20.   Former Spartan Le'Veon Bell scored on a 1-yard wildcat run as time expired to give Mike Vick and the Pittsburgh Steelers a stunning victory.

Lions

The Lions host the Bears this Sunday. The Bears are hoping to get back some of their injured wide receivers and will be trying to reach .500 ahead of their bye week.

Red Wings

The Red Wings are back on home ice tonight as they kick off a two-game home stand against the Lightning. The Hurricanes will also come to town on Friday. Detroit is 2-0.

Tampa Bay is 3-and-0 after beating the Bruins 6-3 last night.

College Football

#12 Michigan will host #7 Michigan State this Saturday.

Spurrier Quits

Sources say South Carolina football coach Steve Spurrier has told his players that he is retiring, effective immediately. The former NFL quarterback has coached 23 seasons at Florida and South Carolina.

USC Fires Coach

Southern California has fired head football coach Steve Sarkisian just a day after athletic director Pat Haden determined Sarkisian showed up at school in no condition to lead practice.

Pistons

The Pistons play the second of four straight preseason road games tonight at Indiana. Detroit is 2-1 in exhibition games so far. They play in Chicago on Wednesday and San Antonio on Sunday.

High School Football

The AP High School Football rankings are out for this week and Climax-Scotts is #5 in Division 8. Coldwater is 7th in Division 3 and Marshall is 9th.
