Suspect In Armed Robbery Captured

A suspect is in custody following an armed robbery in Battle Creek last night.

Police say they responded to the scene at a store on West Michigan at around 9.

The clerk said the robber came in armed with what appeared to be a toy pistol demanding cash.

The clerk refused and the two fought before the robber ran off with a small amount of money.

Investigators say they found the suspect nearby and caught him after a short chase.

Money believed to have been taken during the robbery was recovered and the suspect was taken to the County Jail pending charges.
