UPDATE: Hillsdale County Attempted Abduction
Although the suspect in the attempted abduction remains at large, the Hillsdale County Sheriff's Office has located the suspect vehicle and the owner of the suspect vehicle.
Sheriff Parker advises that the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit has processed the reported suspect pickup truck that was seized via a search warrant from Jefferson Township. Through tips from the public Hillsdale County Sheriff Parker said they were able to locate the suspect vehicle in the attempted abduction. The owner of the Dodge truck has been interviewed and is not believed to be a suspect at this time in the investigation. The Sheriff's Office has conducted multiple interviews and says they will continue to vigorously follow-up up on all leads on the case.
At approximately 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, deputies from the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office responded to an attempted abduction of an adult female in the area of Blackbridge Rd. and Hudson Rd. in Hillsdale County’s Jefferson Township. A 24 year old female was walking home from Davis’s Economy Station and Dollar General (both businesses are located in the area of the M-99 & M-34 intersection in Jefferson Township), when a truck stopped and a white male subject got out, grabbed her and attempted to pull her into his vehicle. She states that the male struck her in face telling her “it will be easy and to get into the truck”. The victim was able to fight off her attacker and escape to her residence.
