A Branch County man who admitted to biting his son's neck for taking his vape pipe has been sentenced to 30 days in jail and 12 months probation.

Wood TV 8 reports that 25-year-old Jeremy Cook was charged with fourth-degree child abuse and lying to a police officer.

After a bite mark was found on the child's neck, Child Protective Services called Michigan State Police to the home in Batavia Township, south of Battle Creek.

Cook initially told police he had bitten his son accidentally while they were playing a "vampire" game. He later admitted to biting the child for taking his vape pipe.
