Two years after Brownstone Coffee closed, downtown Battle Creek once again has a coffee shop.

The Battle Creek Enquirer says that 32 Social has opened its doors at 32 W. Michigan Ave, next to the Battle Creek Community Foundation and right across the street from the Heritage Tower. To start off with, the café will offer drinks like lattes and mochas, as well as tea, including matcha, a special type of Japanese green tea; they will also have baked goods from Dark Horse Commons.

The coffee on offer will be from Populace Coffee, while the tea will be from Tudor House Tea. Populace is a coffee roaster based in Detroit, while Tudor House is a Kalamazoo specialty business.

The owner says they’d like to start adding new items to the menu like smoothies, avocado toast and salads by the end of this month. 32 Social will be open Monday through Friday from 6am to 3pm, with a grand opening event scheduled for November 16.
