Albion To Hold Election On Recall Of Council Member Brown

The latest effort to recall Albion City Council Member Sonya Brown will be allowed to move forward.

The Calhoun County Clerk-Elections Office received Recall Petitions on June 11, 2019 recalling current Albion City Precinct 3 Council Member Sonya Brown from office. The recall petitions were reviewed, the opportunity for challenges has expired, and the Calhoun County Clerk-Elections Office determined the petitions contain the minimum number of valid signatures needed to initiate a recall election.

This Call of Election serves as the official declaration of the sufficiency of recall petitions against Albion City Precinct 3 Council Member Sonya Brown. An election on the recall will be held in the City of Albion, Precinct 3 in Calhoun County, Michigan on November 5, 2019.

Candidates interested in filing for the position should contact the City of Albion Clerk. Candidates may file NonPartisan Nominating Petitions or a $100 nonrefundable filing fee no later than 4:00pm on Friday, July 26, 2019.
