Another possible abduction attempt may have been made Thursday morning on the walking trail at Riverside School.

Battle Creek Police Department reported in a news release that they received a call from a woman who reported that a man tried to grab her while she walked the trail at Riverside School around 7:30 AM. She screamed and the man fled into the woods as another walker responded. Police investigated the area, but failed to find the suspect.

The description of the suspect, a white man in his early 30’s with blue jeans, black t-shirt and a short curly blonde beard, seems to match the suspect in the attempted abduction of a 15 year-old girl on Minges Circle, Tuesday afternoon.

Police released a map of the affected area of the attempted abductions and are asking the area residents to review any surveillance recordings taken from July 17 between 2:00 PM-3:00 PM. They should look for  a two-tone light blue SUV/crossover type vehicle as seen in the photo accompanying this new story.

The affected areas are:

  • E. Minges Rd, Devon Rd and Wahwahtaysee Way between Capital Ave and Riverside Dr;
  • East Court St and West Court St between E. Minges Rd and Wahwahtaysee Way;
  • Valleyview Dr between E. Minges and Wahwahtaysee Way;
  • Lincoln Hill Dr between E. Minges Rd and South Hills Dr;
  • The intersection of E. Minges Rd and Riverside Dr

Authorities are asking that in order to help them get through the video quicker, please review video you have first and if you see a vehicle matching this description, please call Det. Strunk at 269-966-3365 or D/Sgt. Elliott at 269-966-3349.
