Father Of Convicted Rapists Now Facing Sexual Assault Charges

A Battle Creek man has become the latest to be charged in connection to an old sexual assault kit getting tested.

The Battle Creek Enquirer says that 55-year-old Arthur French was charged Tuesday with three Criminal Sexual Conduct charges, two in the first-degree; a 52-year-old woman says French sexually assaulted her shortly after he demanded $25 from her in August 2009.

French is the fifth person charged as Calhoun County reviews it’s roughly 300 untested rape kits. Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette appointed a special investigator last year to investigate these cases.

French is the father of both Allen and Scott French, who were convicted earlier this year of sexually assaulting two girls aged 8 and 9; in addition to that, Allen French was convicted of kidnapping a 16-year-old girl in Bedford Township and raping her as she walked home from the bus.
