Battle Creek police responded to a bomb threat at an auto parts company. II Stanley Co. in Fort Custer had to be cleared for several hours Friday night after a bomb threat was called into Calhoun County Dispatch around 6:00 p.m. The caller allegedly threatened that the building was going to explode.

Police say the building was evacuated, and the area was searched by a Calhoun County Sheriff K-9 Unit but, nothing turned up. The building remained emptied for over two hours during the search. Once cleared, authorities gave the okay for the minimal amount of employees to return inside.

No other information on the bomb threat or who contacted the Calhoun County Dispatch about the bomb threat has been released at this time. Police are investigating the call that caused the evacuation.
