A 36-year-old Battle Creek man is in jail after allegedly firing several shots at a residence.

Calhoun County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 20,000 block of McAllister Rd in Pennfield just before midnight Thursday, on reports of shots fired. Deputies spoke with the residents, who told them that the suspect had threatened to shoot up the house. Shortly after that, the residents said they heard several shots being fired.

Authorities found several empty bullet casings near the residence, although no one was injured.

The suspect was tracked down to the 1000 block of North Ave, and was arrested. Deputies also found a weapon, and other evidence. The 36-year-old was taken to the Calhoun County Jail on a probation violation, and several weapons charges.
