Multiple charges are likely to be coming against a Battle Creek man who police say broke into his ex-girlfriend’s house Wednesday morning.

The Battle Creek Police Department says that around 2:30am Wednesday, they were called to the first block of Battle Creek Ave. They investigated, and determined that a man had broken into his ex’s house, assaulted her and then attempted to start a fire before fleeing. A K-9 track was conducted, and the 25-year-old man was found a couple streets over at a home on W. Rittenhouse.

The suspect was arrested, and was lodged in jail on charges of Home Invasion, Attempted Arson and several outstanding warrants.
