No charges have been filed against a Battle Creek man who had been arrested earlier this week on suspicion of possessing child pornography.

The investigation started last Sunday when a man, who was house and dog sitting for a friend, discovered what he thought was child porn on his friend’s tablet computer. He had knocked the tablet off a couch, and when he picked it up he says he saw videos of what appeared to be sexual videos of pre-teen girls saved to the home screen.

The device wasn't password protected.

The suspect’s house was searched on a warrant, and several devices were seized, leading to the man being arrested when he returned from his camping trip Monday. Now, the Battle Creek Enquirer says that the 36-year-old man was released from jail on Wednesday after prosecutors declined to authorize charges.

The Battle Creek Police Department says that investigators are still working on the case, and continuing to look at the evidence.
