Battle Creek Man & Woman Arrested With Fentanyl & Cocaine

Battle Creek police arrest two people with fentanyl and cocaine, believed to be packaged for delivery, and nearly $3,000 in cash.

Police arrested a 28-year-old Battle Creek man and a 34-year-old woman following a traffic stop. Battle Creek police said they saw the man backing his vehicle up in a driveway in the 200 block of Spring Street at 11:57 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The man was found to have outstanding warrants and officers attempted to initiate his arrest when a struggle began, according to The Battle Creek Enquirer. That's when police say the man threw a plastic baggie to the women. She proceeded to stuff the baggie into her shirt and then down her pants. The two were then taken into custody.

Authorities say the woman told police she had hid the plastic baggie under a seat in the patrol vehicle. The officers located a soft-ball sized baggie that held drugs and approximately 50 smaller baggies inside.

The pair were arrested on charges of possession with intent to deliver drugs as well as resisting and hindering police. Police say they seized $2,821 that was found in the man's pocket and the 2004 Ford Explorer the man was driving.
