Battle Creek Police Investigate 3 Weekend Instances Of Stolen Mail
Over the weekend, Battle Creek police were contacted for three separate instances of stolen mail.
On Saturday, a 60 year old man told Battle Creek police that mail sent to his mother's residence in the 900 block of Riverside Drive had been stolen. The man's mother had not been at the residence as of late and that he had last checked the mail on May 12th. The postal service notified him that mail they had placed in the box had been removed.
At approximately 9:48 a.m. Sunday, a 64 year old man said he was notified that opened mail had been located near his home in the 500 block of Moorland Drive. He told authorities that a pair a reading glasses, valued at about $25, had been stolen.
Later Sunday afternoon, a 46 year old woman contacted police after finding open mail had been left at her home by the United States Postal Service with a note stating it had been found down the road, according to the Battle Creek Enquirer. The said she believes the mail was taken on Friday and that a $33 dress her daughter had ordered, was removed.
