Battle Creek Advises About Discolored Water After Valve Malfunction
Residents who are hooked up to the city water system might experience some discoloration in their water starting today.
The city of Battle Creek says that a valve problem at the Verona Pumping Station forced water mains to be closed, meaning that some sediment might have been loosened; however, the water should remain perfectly safe to drink.
If your water is discolored, you should perform a cold water flush in your home until the water runs clear; it’s recommended to perform the flush before using hot water. As well, they recommend caution when doing laundry.
This problem is expected to last for several days, maybe more than a week.
