Battle Creek's Family Fare Quick Stop gas station on Columbia Ave. has now closed up shop.

As of March 30, 2018, the store is completely shut down, with even the letters removed from the sign above the entry doors. Signs were seen announcing the imminent closure over the past week.

The gas station had previously been attached to a Felpausch store, in the building that currently holds Planet Fitness and Salvation Army. When that store closed, the gas station stayed open, and operated as a standalone station for several years.

95.3 WBCK reached out to Family Fare's parent company SpartanNash for comment, seeking answers as to why the Quick Stop was closing, and how many employees might have been effected. However, they did not respond by press time. If a response is received, this story will be updated to reflect that.

With this closure, there are no more Family Fare gas stations in Battle Creek; however, one is still open at the Family Fare store in Marshall on Michigan Avenue.
