Tuesday evening, Calhoun County area law enforcement will be taking part in an event at Mill Race Park to help promote community involvement.

The Battle Creek Police Department and others will be holding the National Night Out at the corner of Michigan Ave. and Capital Ave. SW in Downtown Battle Creek, and it will feature games, music, and food. As well, there will be police vehicles and K-9 partners on display.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign from the National Association of Town Watch, which promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our communities safer, better places to live. Events take place nationwide the first Tuesday in August.

The event is free, and runs from 5 to 8pm August 1.
