Homeowners in Battle Creek who need to touch-up the paint on the exterior of their homes can get assistance from the City to get the job done.

The City of Battle Creek has promoted their Paint Program once again; the program allows city homeowners to get up to 10 gallons of paint in one of six colors, as well as a paint kit. Applicants need to provide proof of ownership as well as photos of the areas that need to be painted. If the application is accepted, the property needs to be painted within 60 days, after which code compliance will carry out an inspection.

Applications can be found at the Code & Inspections Office at City Hall, or by going to the city's website.

Once an application is approved, the applicant will be notified by phone and then they must schedule a time and date to come to the Code & Inspections Office. They will need to sign the grand award acceptance letter watch an online "how to" video, and then they'll receive the paint voucher.

The paint voucher will then be redeemed at the E-Paint Recycling facility at 551 W. Michigan Ave.
