The Battle Creek Fire Department and VA Fire Department (automatic mutual aid) were dispatched to black smoke coming out of the chimney of Rosler Manufacturing located at 1551 Denso Road. Battle Creek Fire Department's Rescue 4 had to force entry into the building, and found smoke in the warehouse area.

First responders found the source to be an oven used for their processing. The emergency shut-down procedures for the oven were followed, and that extinguished the fire. After the fire was out, crews made contact with workers on-site followed by communication with the Rosler Manufacturing supervisor.

Crews then ventilated smoke from the warehouse area and cleared the scene. B.C.F.D. and V.A.F.D. responded with five engine companies, one truck company, one squad company, and a command car, for a total of 22 personnel. Most companies were released after the emergency shut-down procedures. Rescue 4 and Engine 2 remained on scene for over an hour to complete ventilation.

There were no reports of injury and the damage is considered minimal.
