Fire in Battle Creek Destroys House

Battle Creek Fire investigators are looking for the cause of a house fire Thursday morning that destroyed the home.

Firefighters responded to the first block of Fourth Street around 6:30am, where the home had already collapsed. A neighboring home received minor damage due to the heat from the fire. A vehicle sitting next to the home was also damaged. The house was unoccupied and no one was injured.

Investigators are also looking into what may have caused a small explosion from the fire inside the house.
