Flu Shuts Down Kalamazoo Public Schools
Whether it's an epidemic or not isn't the point. The spread of flu over the area is shutting schools down and the Kalamazoo Public Schools is the largest system so far. Kalamazoo schools will be closed
Thursday and Friday. And parents will be scrambling for additional daycare or taking PTO.
Given the rising percentage of students and staff with flu, flu-like, or gastrointestinal symptoms today, KPS will be closed Thursday and Friday and will re-open on Monday, February 5.
In the meantime, schools will be cleaned and disinfected. The district encourages students who are sick to stay home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours and to limit contact with others to the extent possible. - KPS website.
In addition, Parchment Schools will be closed again on Thursday, and Galesburg-Augusta Schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday.
