Former Athens Teacher Arrested
Former Athens High School teacher, 29 year-old Tyler Millward, was arrested Friday following an investigation by the Huron Potawatomi Police Department according to WWMT. Court documents show Millward allegedly had a sexual relationship with a student. During the investigation the student was interviewed and her phone was seized. The 17 year old admitted to the relationship at that time, saying it began when she was 16.
Millward is alleged to have taken the student to two different locations, one location on Factoryville Road in Branch County and the Fairfield Inn in Battle Creek. Both locations were searched as well as the suspect’s vehicle. Millward was taken into custody on a count of using a computer to commit a crime and three counts of lying to a police officer.
Millward resigned from Athens High School in February 2018. The former teacher also coached 3 seasons of baseball prior to parting ways with the district.
