Former Employee Sues Summit Pointe In Calhoun County Court
Summit Pointe here in Battle Creek is now being sued by a former contractor.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports that the lawsuit was filed last week by Bradley Casemore in Calhoun County Court, in which he claims the mental health organization ended his pension wrongfully.
Casemore worked for Summit Pointe until the end of 2010, where he then moved on to become executive director of the organization which provides the majority of Summit Pointe’s funding, Kalamazoo-based Southwest Michigan Behavioral Health.
Summit Pointe in 2015 argued that Casemore was ineligible for pension benefits because he was a contracted worker, but the lawsuit claims that the organization made a clear promise to him to give him a pension.
