HS Football – The Oldest Rivalry Returns to Battle Creek
Two schools that started their rivalry in 1893 return to the turf for another edition of what some call "The Oldest Rivalry West of the Alleghenies".
The Battle Creek Central Bearcats and Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants will battle for the 116th time at C.W. Post Field. Though it is not the longest continuous rivalry, it is the oldest rivalry in Michigan. Over the years, the Giants have inched closer to evening the overall record in the rivalry, with the Bearcats holding a 61-50-4 record. Kalamazoo Central has won the last three contests, including last year's thriller at Thomas Stadium.
Here's the preview of tonight's epic contest in the Southwest Michigan Athletic Conference's East Division, the first of two High School Football games we will be broadcasting this week. Also, see what times your school plays today (or tonight) with the Eastern equine encephalitis epidemic still being thwarted.
