The Kellogg Company has announced job cuts at its distribution centers across the United States, 211 of those affected are workers at the Detroit facility in New Hudson. Those cuts will begin July 29th, ending August 17th.

Over 1,000 jobs will be cut as the company transitions from using distribution centers and shift to a warehouse system. Other affected cities include 420 workers in Houston and Fort Worth Texas, and 500 workers in Charlotte-Greensboro, North Carolina.

The cut-backs were first hinted at in an announcement, made in February, of the future closing of 40 distribution centers. The company has been attempting to cut costs because of the loss of sales due to the change of consumer trends.
