Lt. Governor Candidate Lisa Posthumus-Lyons on 95.3 WBCK
It's been quite a couple of months for Lisa Posthumus-Lyons. The 38 year old mother of 4 was picked by Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Schutte to be his running mate in mid-August. A couple of weeks later, her home burned to the ground. Posthumus-Lyons was a guest on the 95.3 WBCK Morning Show with Tim Collins.
The daughter of former state lawmaker and current chief of staff for Governor Rick Snyder, Lisa Posthumus-Lyons has already had a substantial political career of her own:
- She served as a Republican from the Kent County town of Alto in the Michigan Legislature from 2011 through 2016.
- She chaired committees on education and elections.
- In 2016, she was elected Kent County clerk.
She says the choice is simple for Michigan voters: "Are we going to go backward to the lost decade when we had 15% unemployment, and foreclosures making up 75% of home sales? Or are we going to move Michigan forward and continue this comeback?"
