Battle Creek authorities are on the lookout for a man believed to have been involved in an attempted purse-snatching Saturday morning.

The Battle Creek Police Department says that around 2:45am Saturday, a woman was leaving her car in her driveway, at a home in the 700 block of Capital Ave. NE. At that time, a man came rushing at her from the backyard and attempted to grab her purse. There was a struggle, and the suspect then gave up and fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 30’s, standing around 5 foot 5 inches tall, wearing dark clothing. The victim said that she thought the man had been seen in the area “lurking” around, so if you have any tips authorities ask that you contact them or Silent Observer.
