Man Arrested After Robbery

A 29 year-old Kalamazoo man was taken into custody following a strong armed robbery in the first block of West Van Buren Street in Battle Creek. Battle Creek Police officers responded to the call a little after 1 PM, Friday afternoon. The officers were directed to the 100 block of Calhoun Street, where witnesses had followed the suspect. After negotiating with the man, he finally exited the residence and was taken into custody and lodged in the Calhoun County Jail on charges of Strong Armed Robbery and Parole Violation. The victim of the robbery was treated for minor injuries and received his property that was stolen.
