A Battle Creek man is cooling his heels in the Calhoun County Jail after barricading himself in his home to escape Battle Creek City Police attempting to serve a felony warrant for his arrest.

Authorities approached the home, in the 100 block of Cliff Street, around 3 PM Friday afternoon and noticed the suspect standing on the roof, attempting to escape. He realized that he was busted and then fled back inside the home, barricading the front door. After ignoring numerous commands to surrender, the Emergency Response Team was called into action, successfully arresting the man.

The suspect now awaits further charges.
