Almost a year ago, police say a man was involved in an armed robbery and kidnapping at a Battle Creek ATM.

Now, the man has been charged with multiple crimes.

The Battle Creek Enquirer says that 33-year-old Phillip Scott was arraigned Wednesday on multiple charges including carjacking, unlawful imprisonment and armed robbery. Police say that in March 2017, a 27-year-old woman said she was using the ATM at the OMNI Credit Union on Roosevelt St, when two armed men approached and forced her to withdraw $150; the men then entered the vehicle and held a gun to her head, forcing her to drive to a dead end street a short distance away.

Last week, DNA evidence recovered from the scene identified Scott as one of the robbers, and the victim later identified him as well. Scott maintains his innocence.

He faces up to life in prison if he is convicted, due to being a habitual offender.
