A 33-year-old Marshall man is behind bars and charged on multiple counts after a six-month investigation from multiple departments.

The Marshall Police announced via Facebook that Jonathan Budnick was arrested September 4th on charges of accosting children for immoral purposes, indecent exposure, indecent exposure by a sexually delinquent person and computer crimes.

Local investigators were tipped by a group of middle school students that were solicited over the internet in April by a man that was making sex requests and sharing nude photos. Authorities interviewed several students from Marshall, Albion and Battle Creek that had been solicited.

The Marshall Police, Calhoun County Sheriff's Department and Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Task Force are credited for the investigation, which remains open.

Budnick was arraigned on the three charges September 5th in Calhoun County court. A preliminary hearing is set for September 23rd.

Budnick has been arrested before on computer crimes charges. According to the Michigan Department of Corrections, he served just 10 months of a five-year sentence for using a computer to commit a crime from a 2009 case. He also served an 18-month sentence for attempted home invasion in 2013.
