One Killed, One Wounded Following Chase Thursday

A man was shot and killed and another wounded by Kalamazoo-area police following a chase Thursday afternoon.
No officers were injured in the incident at Anna's Vineyard Apartments in Portage.
Michigan State Police say the chase started on the east side of Kalamazoo County when a sheriff's deputy stopped the car because the driver was wanted for an obstruction and resisting charge. The man brandished a semi-automatic weapon then fled from police. The chase ended about half an hour later at the apartment complex.
The passenger was killed and the driver was wounded. He was taken to a local hospital.
Police say the two men are from the Kalamazoo area.
