One Person Shot, Suspect In Custody

A 22 year old man with outstanding warrants was taken into custody by Battle Creek Police after allegedly shooting a 25 year old man Friday evening. Authorities were called to the crossroads of Hanover Street and Walters Avenue following reports of a shooting. The victim was found with two gunshot wounds to the upper thigh area. A tourniquet was applied to the leg due to the amount of blood loss before the victim was transferred to a hospital.

The suspect was located a short distance away by additional officers and is charged with with Assault with Intent to Murder, a parole violation and outstanding warrants. The victim was last reported to be in stable condition.
