Plane Skids to a Stop at W.K. Kellogg Airport
The W.K. Kellogg Airport in Battle Creek was closed for a few hours Thursday after a plane made a rough landing.
The aircraft was carrying four passengers and no one was reported injured. According to a release from the city, the plane attempted to land around 2:30pm when the landing gear failed to extend.
The pilot was forced to have the plane skid to a stop on the runway 5L. Authorities from the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board have been called in to investigate.
The airport was reopened after 5pm after the plane was taken off the runway.
