Popular New Rainbow Chasing App to Soon be Available in Michigan
There are few weather phenomena that make people want to grab their camera as quickly as possible as a rainbow sighting. Typically rainbows form when some sunshine pops out during a rainstorm, making them somewhat rare. And every now and then we get a real treat when a double rainbow forms in the sky.
But in Michigan, we often get good ones at least a few times a year, but they can be sporadic. You might see several in a short amount of time and then go months or even a year or two before the conditions are right to see one again.

A fairly new app called RainbowChase has been developed and is designed to help provide more guidance into spotting rainbows. It contains a map that uses your location and has guidelines and instructions to provide better visualization of rainbow viewing opportunities in your area and help you get to the best spots to see one. It was launched in 2021.
Unfortunately, it is not available for Michigan at this time, but the developers plan to span all of North America with it soon. An exact date has not been given. Also, it is currently only available on Apple devices.
But you can download the app now and register so that it is ready when they do make Michigan available to use it with. And you can also keep it handy if you are planning a trip to the West Coast of the U.S., as it is already available to use in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.
